Why is the App Store charging me even though I'm not using Detox?

The most common reason: your Detox subscription is still active in Apple's subscription system, even though you've stopped opening the app or you've deleted it. iOS subscriptions are independent from whether the app is installed. Apple keeps charging you at each renewal until you cancel from the App Store.


This is by Apple's design, not Detox's. Every iOS subscription works this way, because Apple manages the billing for every app on the App Store.

How to check and stop the charges


Follow the cancellation flow in How do I cancel my subscription?. Once you confirm, you won't be charged again at the next renewal date. Detox stays accessible until the end of the period you've already paid for.


If Detox doesn't appear in your Subscriptions list, the subscription might be tied to a different Apple Account. Check the email Apple sent you when you were last charged; it shows which Apple Account the charge came from. Switch to that Apple Account on your iPhone, then check the Subscriptions list again.


What if I already deleted the app?


Deleting the app from your home screen doesn't cancel the subscription. Even with Detox uninstalled, Apple keeps charging your Apple Account at each renewal until you cancel through the App Store. The cancel flow is the same whether the app is installed or not.


What about getting a refund?


Apple is the merchant for every iOS subscription, so refunds go through Apple, not through Detox. You can request one at Apple's refund page. Apple decides whether to approve it.


If you can't find the subscription anywhere


If you're being charged but Detox isn't in the Subscriptions list under any of your Apple Accounts, or if something feels off, reach us via chat:
