Can I share Detox with my family?
Yes. Detox supports Apple Family Sharing on a higher-priced subscription tier. With it, every member of your iOS Family Sharing group can use Detox on their own device with their own configuration, all under your one subscription.
The Family Sharing tier is not visible from inside Detox. You access it through Apple's subscription settings.
How to switch to the Family Sharing tier
- Open the App Store app on your iPhone.
- Tap your profile picture in the top right.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Detox.
- Look for an option to change your subscription tier or renewal (the exact label varies slightly by iOS version). The Family Sharing tier appears in the list of available plans.
- Pick the Family Sharing plan and confirm.
Once you've switched, every member of your iOS Family Sharing group automatically has access to Detox premium on their devices. They just need to install Detox from the App Store; Apple handles the entitlement.
How each family member uses Detox
Each family member sets up Detox on their own device, with their own Monitored Apps, Scheduled Blocks, Auto Block configuration, and Progress data. Configurations don't sync between accounts; Detox runs independently per device, per person.
What does carry across the family is the premium status: thanks to your shared subscription, none of them sees the paywall.
If you don't see the Family Sharing option
If the Family Sharing tier doesn't appear in the App Store when you look, open Detox → Settings → Problems with blocks? → Something else to start a chat with us. We'll help you check what's going on with your account.
A few common reasons it might not appear:
- You don't have Apple Family Sharing set up yet at the iOS level. Go to iPhone Settings → tap your name → Family Sharing to set up the family group first.
- You're already on the Lifetime plan; the Family Sharing option is part of the renewing subscription tiers.
