How do I get a refund?

Refunds for Detox go through Apple, not through Detox directly. Apple is the merchant for every iOS subscription, so any refund decision is made on Apple's side, in Apple's refund flow.

This article walks through the path. If you also want to stop being charged in the future, that's cancellation, a separate step. See How do I cancel my subscription?.

Requesting a refund from Apple

Apple's refund page handles the request end-to-end. Open the page in your browser:

Sign in with the Apple Account that was charged, find the Detox subscription in your list of recent purchases, and submit the request with a short reason. Apple reviews it and decides whether to approve. We don't see the request and can't influence the decision.

Approval depends on Apple's policy and your individual situation (how recently you were charged, whether you've requested a refund before, etc.). Apple typically responds within a few days.

What if I cancelled but was still charged?

If you cancelled your subscription but a charge went through anyway, it usually means the cancellation didn't fully register before the renewal date, or it happened against a different Apple Account than the one you thought.

The fix is the same: request the refund through Apple's page above. While you're sorting it out, make sure your subscription is actually cancelled by checking your active subscriptions list (open the App Store app → tap your profile → tap Subscriptions → find Detox). See Why is the App Store charging me even though I'm not using Detox? if you can't find the subscription.

What if I'm still in my free trial?

If you're inside your free trial window, you haven't been charged yet. Cancelling before the trial end date prevents the charge from happening in the first place. See How does my free trial work? for the cancel-before-charged path.

If you were charged because the trial ended and you didn't cancel in time, the Apple refund page above is your path. Apple's policies around immediately-after-trial charges are generally more lenient than for older subscriptions.

Talking to us

If you want our help while you're going through this (you're stuck on a step, the Apple flow rejected the request, you have a question about your account), reach us through the in-app chat:

  • If Detox is still installed: open Detox → SettingsProblems with blocks?Something else.
  • If Detox is uninstalled or you don't have access: open detox.so in your browser. The same chat is available there.

We do read every message and respond. Just know that we can't issue the refund ourselves; that's Apple's call.
