What can I do on the Settings page?

The Settings page is the configuration and troubleshooting hub. It's where you manage your App Groups (the sets of apps and websites you block), get help when blocks aren't working, manage your subscription, and access account-level options. The page is organized into cards, and how many you see depends on how many groups you've created.

The Settings page is not where you create or start blocks (that's the Blocks tab), and it's not where you see your screen time day to day (that's the Home tab). Settings is for setup and help.

If you meant something else: create, edit, or delete a block → see What can I do on the Blocks page?. See today's screen time and your active block → see What can I do on the Home page?.

Monitored Apps

The top card is your entry point to App Groups. Tap the Monitored Apps card and it opens your list of groups: your initial group (shown as "Your initial group", or "My apps" if you haven't named it) plus any other groups you've created.

From that list you can tap a group to edit it, change the apps and categories through Apple's picker, edit its Custom Websites, toggle Block Adult Websites, or tap New Group to add another. Each group keeps its own apps, websites, and adult-filter setting.

This is the same place the old standalone App Groups card used to live; it's now folded into Monitored Apps. See What are App Groups? for how groups work, and How do I block specific apps and websites? for the picker itself.

When a Strict Mode block is currently active on a group, editing that group is locked; editing resumes when the block ends. See What is Strict Mode? for why.

Screen Time

This card appears once you have two or more App Groups. With a single group, screen-time tracking stays bundled with your Auto Block and there's no separate card. As soon as you create a second group, a dedicated Screen Time card shows up here so tracking is no longer pinned to one group.

Detox still reports your overall screen time, not a per-app or per-group breakdown. See How does Screen Time tracking work? for the details.

Problems with blocks?

This card has five quick-link rows for the most common block-related issues:

  • Apps urgent unblock: opens the Urgent Unblock sheet to release all currently active blocks in an emergency. See What is Urgent Unblock? for the full guide and 24-hour cooldown rules.
  • Apps not blocked?: opens the 5-step troubleshooting guide for when blocking isn't working as expected. See Detox isn't blocking my apps. How do I fix it?.
  • App blocked by mistake?: opens a 3-step guide for cases where Detox is blocking an app you didn't intend to block. The guide walks you through adding the app to iOS Screen Time's Always Allowed list so it bypasses Detox going forward.
  • Can't uninstall an app?: opens a guide for when you can't delete an app from your home screen. This usually happens when a Strict Mode block is currently preventing it, or when iOS Screen Time restrictions are interfering.
  • Something else?: opens the in-app chat. Use this for anything not covered by the other rows.

Other Settings

The bottom card has a single row: Other settings. Tap Open to launch a full sheet with account, application, and informational items grouped in three sections.

Account

  • Apple ID: if you haven't yet, you can sign in with Apple to sync your subscription and progress across devices. Once connected, this row shows Apple ID connected with a confirmation message.
  • Account details: review the basic info Detox has about you (name, email, date of birth).
  • Subscription status: shows your current plan (monthly, yearly, or lifetime) and renewal date, with a path out to the App Store subscription settings to change or cancel. See How do I cancel my subscription? for the full steps.
  • Delete your account: removes your Detox account and the data we hold server-side. This does not cancel your subscription (that has to be done separately via the App Store) and does not remove your local blocks or configuration from the device.

Application

  • Time Format: switch between time formats (12-hour vs. 24-hour) for everything Detox displays.
  • Notifications: toggle Detox's general notifications.
  • Block notifications: this is the same sheet as the gear icon on the Blocks page; see What can I do on the Blocks page? for the three configurable notification toggles (Auto Block pre-warning, Scheduled reminder, Scheduled start).
  • Language: opens iOS Settings so you can change the language Detox uses (iOS controls per-app language selection).

Others

  • Feature Request: opens a form to send us a feature idea.
  • Rate & Review: prompts you to leave an App Store rating.
  • Privacy Policy: opens our privacy policy.
  • Terms of Use: opens our terms of use.
  • App Version: displays the version of Detox you have installed.

Where to go from the Settings page

Settings is the configuration and help hub. For other things:

  • To see today's screen time and your active block, go to the Home tab.
  • To create, edit, or delete blocks, go to the Blocks tab.
  • To see long-term progress and weekly / monthly stats, go to the Progress tab.
