What can I do on the Progress page?
The Progress page is your long-view dashboard. Where the Home page shows today's screen time at a glance, the Progress page zooms out: how much time you've spent on your monitored apps versus the baseline you reported before using Detox, what that adds up to over time, and what it projects forward.
When the page becomes available
The Progress page needs at least one full day of your actual usage data to give meaningful numbers, so it stays in a setup / waiting state for the first 24 hours after you set things up.
- If you installed Detox recently, you set your baseline (your age and your pre-Detox screen time) during onboarding. After that, you wait 24 hours before the page shows its full content.
- If you updated Detox from an older version that didn't have the Progress page, you'll see a one-time popup asking for your age and pre-Detox screen time, then the same 24-hour wait.
Once the 24 hours have passed, the page is ready and shows everything described below.
Your Life in Years
The hero section at the top is a grid of 83 small dots, one for each year of an 83-year lifespan. Each dot is colored based on what that year is projected to look like given your habits: some dots represent time on screens (the years you'd lose), and others represent the years you'd reclaim by sticking with Detox.
Below the grid, a big headline number reads something like X years projected to be saved in a gradient green. That's the centerpiece statistic for the whole page.
Tap the grid to expand a legend that explains exactly what the dot colors mean. The projection is based on your reported pre-Detox screen time vs. your current usage; see the lighter explanation in the Progress FAQ article.
The cards below
Below the hero, four cards stack one after the other. Each one zooms into a different time horizon.
Weekly Report
The first card is your Weekly Report. It self-renders two states. Before your first weekly report is ready, it shows a countdown to when it will be available. Once a report is ready (typically on Sunday), the card becomes tappable; tap it to open the full weekly recap with charts and highlights of how your week went.
Lifetime Reclaimed
The Lifetime Reclaimed card shows the total number of hours you've saved on monitored apps since you joined Detox. It tracks milestones as your total grows (small celebratory bumps at meaningful round-number thresholds). This is your cumulative all-time stat, not just recent.
Recent Progress
The Recent Progress card focuses on the last few days, showing how your recent usage compares to your baseline. This is where you see if the past week or so is trending better, worse, or stable. Useful for spotting short-term shifts.
Month by Month
The Month by Month card breaks your progress down by calendar month across the year, so you can see seasonal patterns or long-term trends. Useful for stepping back from the day-to-day and asking how am I really doing year over year?.
Editing your baseline
The pen / edit icon in the page header opens a sheet where you can adjust the two baseline values: your age and your screen time before Detox. These are the values you set during onboarding (or via the one-time popup after an update). The same wheel pickers you used to set them are how you change them.
Editing the baseline recalculates everything on the page: the dot grid, the hero stat, and the cards all update to reflect the new values. Useful if you realize you entered something off, or your situation changes.
How is progress actually calculated?
The short version: Detox compares your reported pre-Detox screen time against your actual screen time on monitored apps while using Detox. The difference, accumulated over time, becomes your "hours reclaimed" and the basis for the years-projection.
For a deeper explanation, see the Progress FAQ.
